Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing—also known as the 3M Company. A company that began its operations over a century ago in Northern Minnesota—1902, to be specific. If the company is to be believed, it arose from humble beginnings, going on to become a Fortune 500 Company.
What they forget to mention, however, is something everyone with ties to the military now knows: that scores of veterans have filed lawsuits against the 3M Company for selling defective combat earplugs.
Could you join this lawsuit? Let’s find out:
Requirement 1: Did You Serve in the U.S. Military Between 2003 and 2015?
You have to have served in the U.S. military to qualify for the lawsuit, but that isn’t the only requirement. There’s a time limit as well. You must have served in the military at any time between 2003 and 2015. In 2015, the 3M Company discontinued its combat earplugs, which they started selling to the military in 2003.
If you joined or served in the military after 2015, you do not qualify for the lawsuit. You might have used some other 3M combat products while you served, but no other product is part of the lawsuit.
Requirement 2: Which Combat Earplug Did You Use?
In addition to proving that you were a serving member of the military within the given time frame, you will also be asked if you used the combat earplugs in question. The 3M combat earplugs were double-side, colored black and yellow, and were provided by the military.
Requirement 3: Are You Suffering as a Result?
You can’t file a lawsuit against the company if you haven’t suffered any physical damage due to using the 3M combat earplugs. You will be asked to provide proof of loss of hearing or ringing in the ears, or any other relevant condition.
